Donal P O’Shea

Donal P O’Shea was born in 1921 in the townland of Ochtaibh/​Oughtiv in the civil parish of An Dromaid/​Dromod. He married Bride and they had six children together, five boys and a girl. Donal spent some time working in England. On his return Donal and Bride ran a B&B for many years. Donal had a keen interest in the poets of Iveragh and was a skilled poet in his own right. He produced a booklet of his own compositions titled ‘Poems of Iveragh’. He also had an interest in painting and singing.
