The Dromid Tapes
These recordings were donated to the Binneas Collection by Humphrey O’Connor (the Inny Tavern) Cillín Líath. They were recorded on 3 inch reel to reel tapes on a hand held machine. Whilst working in Australia in the 1970’s, Humphrey had purchased the machine and brought it home on one of his visits. The recordings were made by his brother in the local area. The tapes had disappeared for many years but were eventually found and digitised and preserved for future generations by the Binneas Collection. Some of the singers and musicians have been identified and the tracks will be labelled in due course.
